Remortgage info

My 5 year fixed rate finished on the 2nd of Jan. I remortgaged from Natwest to First direct. The new mortgage is showing on my first direct online banking, but my old mortgage is still showing on my natwest banking app as well!

I also received a letter this morning (dated Jan the 2nd) saying that my fixed rate has come to an end and what my next payment would be and the date it would be taken.

Should I be worried about this or is it just automated and takes a little while to show up?
Has anyone else remortgaged from Natwest? How long did it take to show the balance as paid?

Can you see a payment on your first direct online banking going to NatWest?

We remortgaged from NatWest on Jan 2nd this year too. It was still showing the usual mortgage balance outstanding on the app Tuesday and Wednesday but then Thursday neither of us could access the app. DH rang NW and they said that was because that the account was no closed down, we will get letter in post to formalise and a refund of the mortgage payment they took on the 2nd within 10 days.

To answer question I would say it is all automated and I'm sure it will refresh by Monday! Reassuring the first direct one has started as that shows it must have been processed?

Our mortgage completed on the 2nd Jan from NatWest to a new lender. Had a letter today stating the same thing. Have already cancelled the direct debit anyway as advised by our broker. Waiting for a refund of the mortgage payment they took on the 2nd and expecting a letter of final account from NatWest. Our mortgage was still showing on the NatWest banking app until yesterday when it disappeared.

Thanks for all the replies, sounds like its fairly normal then. Just scary thinking about two mortgage payments coming out of my account!
Maybe I will give them another week and call if the balance is still showing.

No, it just shows the new mortgage balance (we paid off a chunk at the same time as switching, as my partner is buying into the property, so not a straight swap)

Sounds like first direct haven’t made the payment yet.
