why, when I handed my notice in at the begining of January, does my P45 says I stopped working at the end of February???

I've just been sorting my post out, and my P45 from my old job was in amongst it.

As far as I'm concerned I handed in my notice on the 1st of Jan, and (had I been at work - I was actually on Mat leave) my last day/night would have been the 31/01 - and that's what I've told the IS people for my application for it........

My P45 says my last date of work was the 29/02...

Did you have a whopping 4 weeks of accrued holiday left to take?

[unlikely]

BeauLocks · 17/03/2008 17:39

Did you get paid until the end of Feb?

SoupDreggon · 17/03/2008 17:39

When would your maternity leave have finished?

FAQ · 17/03/2008 17:41

Soup - no I had one night (which they kindly sent me a cheque for along with my p45.....a whopping £52 LOL).

Beau - yes I still got my SMP paid....

I thought I'd worked it out to be end of January - they never got back to me to confirm when it would actually finish so I guess I was wrong.

You get your P45 dated from when your last pay packet is, so if you had a teeny amount to be paid, that is when it will date from.

terramum · 17/03/2008 17:59

Your SMP would be included in the P45 figure I think so the last date your received that will be the date on the P45. I seem to remember the date on my P45 was waaay after I had actually told them I wouldn't be returning after my maternity leave because they forgot of something (crap temp agency) ...

I shouldn't think the date being "wrong" would be a problem as long as the financial figures are correct.

FAQ · 17/03/2008 18:41

aha - thanks for that - had a sudden moment of panic when I realised my "leaving" date didn't tally with theirs

Did you have any accrued annual leave or bank holidays?

Or did you get a paid a month 'in hand'?
