Is the UC initial advance a reflection of what your UC monthly payment will be?

Applied for UC last week under managed migration and I noticed today I was eligible for an advance. The advance is quite a lot less than what I was receiving on TC.

Is it possible that some elements have not yet been added? I should be in the LCWRA group as I claim ESA but I had to send a journal message to tell them this.

I’ve read that the advance is the maximum you’re entitled to on UC, but I thought I would have transitional protection. I’m very clearly worse off.

No that's a myth.

@DragonFly98 That’s reassuring. Any idea why it would be less?

Because all your entitlements will not have been verified yet. You may well be offered a higher advance.

TP is based on your tax credit amount before deductions being higher than your UC amount before deductions. If your pre deduction UC amount is higher than your tax credit award you won't be entitled to TP.
