I need a credit card- can I use it before arrives in the post?

Just that really. I have an existing credit card, but there have been hacking attempts in the past 48 hours.
My credit card company have cancelled my card and will send out a new card by post.
But that will leave me without a credit card for probably more than a week.

Is there any way I can apply for another credit card from a different company and use it immediately?

No, not if you need the 3 digit number from the back. I'm not sure they even give you the card number before it arrives in the post.

You wouldn’t have the card number or security code on the back though.

If you’re credit card is through Lloyds you would be able to use it as your new card number and last 3 digits would be available for you to see on the banking app.

Some give a virtual card, when my bank account was hacked and a new card issued I was able to use in Apple Pay and online the same day, the card number etc were in the app, and I've recently got a Monzo one which gave me a virtual card option to use online and add to Apple Pay within seconds.

Barclays was the bank I had compromised and the new card number etc was available in my app way before the card came.

OP if you're stuck for the next few days, could you ask for a temporary overdraft on your current account?

You can normally add the card into your digital wallet straight away

Of you have PayPal, then you can apply for PayPal Credit, which is a virtual credit card

I have a Monzo credit card that I could add to Apple Pay straight away, that should tide you over for a few days.
