Sumup verification question

Hi all,

Question on behalf of my DS who used sumup last night for the first time to take payment at an event he ran. Does anyone know if you have to verify with a driving license/passport before they pay out or is that only for payments over £5000? It doesn’t seem clear when I’ve tried to Google for him. Any experiences? Thank you!

Thank you very much for your response. When you set that up, before the payments came through to your bank account, can you remember if you had to send ID to sumup? Thank you!

We had to answer questions as part of a verification process after we started receiving payouts. We're a limited company though. But my understanding is that they will make payouts up to £5k without verifying. You have to give some basic information when signing up.

I don’t think I had to do anything like that. I have one for craft fairs.
