Savings threshold / Universal Credit question

I have 5k in savings, and then I have another savings account in which I have currently got 1k but that is for outgoings (bills etc) - will this sort of thing flag up as me having 6k savings even though i'm taking money from one of the accounts and using it to pay bills? When I get paid every month I put away money into that account and then use it to pay for groceries/bills so it's always up and down. Sorry if its a silly question

Hi OP,

Savings are any capital you have in your accounts at the end of each assessment period. So if you are over £6k when your AP ends you will need to declare how much you have. If it's under £6k then you don't. Hope that helps.

@NameChangePoP thank you so much for clarifying! That makes sense. I'll makesure I report it if it gets to 6k or above :)
