Carers allowance help!

I've been over paid from work and it's put me over the threshold for carers allowance. I've just started getting carers allowance for my daughter who has autism. I only work 12 hours a week but work have paid £247 for one week of holiday pay. Which is pay too much. I should be happy but I'm just annoyed I think it's gonna totally mess up my claim. Will they just stop it going forward? Do I need to call them and explain?

Don't panic. Work it all out using the info available before calling them. I think that you can deduct some expenses such as travel to and from work, and it says you can use your average earnings. So this one week might not be a problem if your earnings are usually under. Do you have a local SEND support group? SEND parents are always full of useful knowledge and experience, so I bet someone knows the answer!

If it's a one off I think it's ok. Just look on the gov website for info.

That. Being over in an odd week for the kind of reasons that might catch anybody isn't fatal to your claim. As per .gov there are ways to deal with it.

They've suspended my claim so for now I'm not getting it, waiting to see what they say
