DLA claim

Hi everyone

Hoping anyone can help me with this

I claimed for Dla for my child back in September

it said on the form “if you haven’t heard from us in 2 weeks to say we have received your forms give us a call”

I’ve tried calling around 15 times but can never get through

I read online that they are no longer sending out texts to confirm receipt of forms and that its taking roughly 6 months to process a claim

i was just wandering if anyone can confirm this to be true, I guess what I don’t want is to wait 6 months only for it to turn out they never have received my forms and I have to start all over again

We applied earlier this year and I got a letter about 6 weeks after saying they had the form. Took about 3 or 4 months for ours to be approved but was February time. Elsewhere in mumsnet there is a dla wait times thread where people might be able to share more recent experiences...think randomly it is u der childcare.

I’ve found the thread you mentioned and it looks like most people have received a letter around 6 weeks after sending off an application so I think I’ll give it another 2 weeks and if I don’t hear anything I’ll have to start the forms again

I received a letter last week to say that they got my form November 3rd and that processing times are taking up to 15 weeks. I think that you should have received confirmation that they have your form and that you should check as if it's got lost in transit, it will delay things for you even further. I hope it hasn't as that form is lengthy to say the last least! Good luck!

I sent my application away in June , we got awarded
At the end of October. We did get backdated pay . But it's a long wait
