PIP reassessment

Hi all, has anyone any idea of how long it takes to find out if you need a face to face assessment
I had a text to say that my case has been sent to the assessment service and they would look at paperwork and decide if I needed to be seen.
Thanks

Is this your renewal? It took a long time. Mine took 11 months, believe it or not, between returning the form last year and finally having the assessment this year. And then 6 weeks to receive the actual decision letter after that.

I was sent a face-to-face assessment appointment, which was odd, given I am immunecompromised and stated that x3 times in my form, with evidence. I rang IAS and they changed it to a telephone appointment.

The waiting is bloody awful but DWP does keep paying PIP meanwhile.

@AutumnCrow you sound very similar to me. I am also immunocomprimised following a transplant. I only ever go to medical appointments and that's by patient transport.
I sent my renewal form in January with loads of evidence but I have improved slightly since then.
It's good to know that they might change to a telephone appointment if needed.
Thank you

Oh my word, I’d definitely insist on a phone assessment if that’s what you want and need.

I simply rang the phone number on the letter for the assessment service (IAS) and they agreed straight away.
