Carers allowance question

Hi hope I've put this in the right place.

If someone is on uc and claims carers allowance can they get the carers element too?

Also if you claim either cares element or carers allowance do uc expect you to look for work?

Carers allowance reduces your universal credit £1 for £1 but you then qualify for carers element of UC which is approx £185.

Once verified UC will not expect you to look for work as long as you care for that person.

Worth noting that you will need to declare that you are caring to UC for the above to happen.
