Hi

Could anyone recommend a broker or insurance company who deals with life insurance and critical illness insurance where a person has had health issues please?

My husband had some cancerous cells removed a few years ago - no treatment needed.

I'd be looking to get rest of mortgage covered so about £70k

Thanks in advance

Honestly prepare for a battle on this. I have had a fiend with serious cancer in multiple locations and is having a torrid time getting them to pay anything.
What they class as critical is very very obtuse.

@EE1980 any decent broker will be able to help with this as long as they have whole of market access.

As a matter if interest which provider. I've never had an issue with a claim for a client (in 23 years) unless they have failed to disclose a pre existing health issue on the app.

I can't recommend based on skin cancer but I'd really recommend the insurance surgery as a broker. I was rejected by several life insurance companies as have quite a complex health history but they managed to find me life insurance and even critical illness insurance, which I'd given up hope of getting. They were really knowledgeable about what the various companies would and wouldn't accept . Very friendly folk

Try cavendish the broker

Cavendish are non advice. @EE1980 is better off speaking to a qualified protection adviser who are whole of market.

Well worth having CI insurance. I know premiums have increased, but if you can afford to do it and can get insurance for DH to cover cancer it would give you peace of mind. Unfortunately I suspect the insurers will exclude cancer, as pre history, but worth raising the question to the underwriters. I took out a small CI insurance, never dreaming that I would need to claim, my policy paid out very quickly when I was unfortunately dx with Multiple Sclerosis. Good luck, 🤞you will never need it.

I will recommend by pm, it will be possible I am certain, as long as you are 100% honest on the application.

I have benefitted from a payout in the past i know how important it is. best of luck to you OP.

I think cavendish can give advice but you pay more for it. I'm pretty sure I had that service from them with my CI. I have a hereditary disease in my family.
Think you can choose either advice service or non advice service.

Look for an IFA they can provide independent advice
