Was this safe or a scam?

I was selling something on fb marketplace for £10. Someone came to collect it and asked to do a bank transfer and then proceeded to ask for my bank details and said I could do it myself and wanted my account number and sort code. I didn't feel comfortable putting those into their phone but I'm not sure if I was being silly? Thanks

Probably not a scam but you should always request cash on collection. Person can dispute the transaction with their bank.
