Apple Pay

Hello, this might not be in the right place, but can anyone help, please?

I use Apple Pay for most things. Last week I was given £100 in cash and paid it into the bank rather than have it in my purse. Because I am an absolute idiot, and out of the habit of using a cash point, I left my card in the machine. I only realised today when I needed ID to collect a parcel. I rang the bank who said the card will have been destroyed, and ordered me a new one.

Will my Apple Pay still work now the card it’s linked to has been cancelled? The bank worker said it will be 3/5 working days until I get a new card. I do have a credit card I can use and move money around but would rather not.

I can’t believe what a twit i am.

When I cancelled my bank card Apple Pay still worked and updated the card number for me.

Not sure if it’s the same with all banks. I’m with Bank of Scotland.

Apple Pay will automatically update with the new card details. Some sort of banking wizardry but it happened me too recently!

Thanks so much for replying! My DP is away abroad with work so I was having a panic about not having any money for the next five days 🙈

Yes. A huge benefit to Apple Pay, it gets updated with the new details before you get the card!

When Lloyds cancelled my card (attempted fraud) the employee I spoke to said new card details would be visible via online banking almost straight away and I could update Apple Pay myself, which I did.

When I look at my banking app it says I have “no debit cards”. There is still a card on Apple Pay but I can’t check if it’s the old card because I don’t have it. I’m RBS if that makes a difference.

Actually I can see from checking my PayPal that the old card is still in Apple Pay.

Apple Pay will automatically update with the new card details so you can use it before your card physically arrives at your house

What a stupid arse I am leaving the card in the machine. It’s so long since I used an ATM that I couldn’t even remember my PIN!
