Teacher maternity pay

Hi,
I am a primary school teacher and recently pregnant (11 weeks!).

Forward planning but is it possible to have maternity pay shared out so it is the same every week rather than 90% 50% etc etc ?

Congratulations. No I don’t think so, but it might be worth contacting HR to find out. In my authority it was something like 90% for first 2 weeks, then 90% for 6weeks. Then went down from there. Can’t remember exactly, it was quite a while ago now. More recently, staff have been doing shared parental leave which seems to work out better.

@DanceMumTaxi thank you ! Yes I will definitely be looking into shared parental leave as well. I like to be a plan-ahead person so would love to see how much I can get when 😂

@Lorie94 I absolutely will be! I was going to contact my HR anyway to ask whether it would be possible to get a monthly breakdown of what I will be getting so I can plan ahead.
