Help! How do I get my money back?

I tried to pay my phone bill to 02.

There was a glitch on their app and it's looking now like I've paid them my original amount of £39 5 times 😞

Do I phone the bank or 02 at 8am?

I can't afford this at all.

Annoyingly, your bank will say it is O2 who have requested the money so they need to give it back - They have to ring fence it until 02 say it is not required. I’d start with O2 as soon as you can. Is there a live chat function you can use?

Raise a dispute with your bank. Speak to o2 first.

Can you sort out an auto payment for your monthly bill via DD for future months? Or was this a top up issue?

I had a DD with them but annoyingly they kept going in on different dates and sending me into overdraft so I usually just pay it on the app no problem

Phoned 02 they have no records of any payments yet so am on to bank to a very helpful lady who is trying to get 4 payments refunded to me. It's taking a while though 🤞

But said the "never do that again " as she had to fill in a form 4 times 😂

The chances are the payments haven't even gone through, they will just be showing as pending on your bank account and then the money will be released in a few days. If O2 have refunded these payments to you that haven't actually gone through them you may find you owe them money.

O2 aren't refunding anything as nothing is showing on their system yet. So when they get their one payment it should be okay

I had to call the bank back after no movement on the account all day, spoke to a really nice guy who just wiped the list of pending payments and credited them back to my account there and then. So hopefully I'll sleep tonight and not get up to any mischief 😂

Glad it’s all worked out. Amex once ring fenced my bank funds then lost them. Took me a whole year to unravel it…..
