Did anyone else have credit card/loan debt while pregnant?

If you had credit card debt or loans, how did you manage to pay these off/plan for repayment while pregnant and on mat leave?

I have a few thousand on a credit card and the idea that it won’t be paid off by the time i go on mat leave is eating me up inside. I feel like a bit of a failure that I haven’t planned this properly before getting pregnant.

Anyone else been in or currently in the same situation? hopefully i’m not the only one!

It isn’t the end of the world now is it? You’ll be going back to work after Mat, and you can pay off smaller bits during your leave.

Easily done when you need stuff. We've all done it.

Can you transfer it to a 0% deal or a personal loan that has a lower interest rate than the CC?

Are you on your own or do you have partner with whom you can share the burden?

I had car finance at the time. I rang them and extended the term so that my payments went down

I currently have a car loan and a credit card debt. I go on mat leave after Christmas, the car loan will continue to get paid, dh will just pick up the extra cost, the credit card I will just make minimum payments until I return to work.

We were in the same situation 5 years ago when we had ds, it's not ideal, but equally it isn't a problem or something you need to worry or stress yourself out about.

You can transfer your balance to 0% interest, talk to your loan company. They want their money back so they'll help you rather than let you just struggle.

Not exactly the same but we had a hearty car loan before my mat leave, back at work now and it's still being paid off.

It's not ideal but equally not the end of the world. But you are not alone and I have spend nights crying worrying about money in general so it's also not unusual to be stressed about it
