Universal Credit claim i didnt send proof of Childcare costs- Dont they keep records??

Hello

I've been claiming UC and my childcare costs for over 4 years now with no major issues. I checked my statement yesterday and some of my CC costs were not paid.

I sent a message through my Journal and called and the lovely lady said she would raise it to my case mgr. The Mgr replied telling me that i didnt send proof on time (within my assessment period) which is a big lie because it shows in my journal when i uploaded the costs. said i should upload again but not guaranteed it would be paid. She has been mute since yesterday

Does anyone on here know for certain that the CC costs proof uploaded disappears from the system after a while or it should be stored somewhere with them?

Thank you

You say you uploaded the costs, did you also provide proof in time?

take a screenshot of your journal for the relevant date showing both childcare cost claimed and childcare proof uploaded. It should show on two separate entries. Write in your journal a message stating as per journal entries x date and x date costs where claimed and proof supplied within the correct assessment period. They do sometimes make mistakes, I once had an absolute battle with one person who refused mine as they were costs from a previous month that I'd paid in the present month! She couldn't get her head round not being able to claim them until they were paid.

There should be a journal message that says
provide proof of childcare costs completed

The evidence you provide (like your invoice) once it’s been seen by case manager will be deleted for GDPR reasons

Thanks all

i think she's either a new case manager or just totally out of it. Its ridiculous. I uploaded the same evidence i have been uploading for the past 4 years and after saying i didn't upload proof which i did (thanks- I've seen the proof in the journal), she's also saying she wants another proof of payment after sending these and the invoice 2 or 3 times since yesterday. seems she's totally confused!

Thanks all i will keep chasing

Hiya UCspur,

it’s so strange I’ve had exactly the same problem and like you say I’ve been uploading etc for two years and no problems but checked today and exactly the same has happened to me . I’ve reported the costs and uploaded on the 5th and I’ve checked today it says I never reported proof so I’m missing quite a lot of the payment. In my journal it says I reported but nothing about proof (I do both at the same time)

did they change the payment for you? I’m so stressed about it! As it’s Saturday I can’t ring them
