Budgeting categories you always forget

What are the things you ALWAYS forget to budget for over the year ?

Medical incidentals such as

Dentist, prescriptions, Podiatry, sports massages,

That kind of thing.

Summer theatre group shows. DD goes to a franchise theatre club and every summer we pay for costumes and theatre hire. Every year I forget to budget and have to scramble around for the money.

Christmas! I know, I know - it’s hardly a surprise each year is it? But I consistently under budget. I’ve no idea why I keep thinking all I need is x and put that away, yet I end up needing x squared.

Long summer holidays

I spend an awful lot on garden plants.

I think I have it all down now, but previously it was; hair cuts, dentist appointments, garden waste collection, boiler service and then ensuring I had all family birthdays properly recorded!
