Income support etc - when should I apply???

H is moving out next weekend - that means at the end of the month the only income I will have guaranteed is £320......(AFAIK he'll pay the mortgage at the end of this month and then I'll start contributing/renting at the end of April - so don't need to find that money yet However I'm going to have to claim benefits.

When should I apply - do I wait until after he's gone? Or can I go fill in the forms next week? How long does it usually take for you to start receiving them??

Would make an appointment with CAB - but they can't give me on for nearly 3 weeks!!

If I were you I would collect the forms as soon as possible.

In our area it takes 6 weeks to process a claim. I assume you will be dating the form from this weekend anyway.

You can do it online and they call you back to confirm details. They will also ask for his forwarding address.
