Making money from teaching their skill online?

Hello. I have been thinking about joining a platform like teachable or some sort of tutoring website to make extra income as I’d like to work from home as much as I can but really need the extra income.

I have a series of high quality videos teaching a craft skill and I’ve also been told I should teach the knowledge I have on event production. I’m not really sure how to promote it or get interest in such a crowded market.

Does anyone else have an online teaching/coaching style business/side hustle?

I am similar.
Currently, just started with tutoring of family and friends children. Which is working so far. But plan to go down the route you stated above

My son has piano lessons online. His tutor moved the lesson online during 2020/covid and we have continued. The lessons are 30 minutes and my son is progressing well. The tutor does offer face to face lessons but online lessons are 20% less and actually more convenient for us.

When I spoke to the tutor a couple of months ago he said it was very difficult to make money this way. COL has meant people have cut back their spending in this area. He now supplements his income with a permanent part-time job.
