Hello I am trying to help a good friend of mine out she has received one of those migration letters she gets paid every 4 weeks when would be best for her to apply for it in terms of assessment period?

Thank you all I have no clue on any of this uc stuff x

There’s a managed migration thread that nay help. Tax credits stops as soon as you claim so she should apply after a payment.

There's probably no good time with four weekly pay because it's going to be her payday on a different day of each month.
When someone is paid four weekly there will be one month a year when the amount of UC received will be significantly less or Uc may be wiped out completely because there will be one month where 2 pay days fall in the same Uc assessment period. The best advice I have is to plan for this so she knows when it will happen. Once she knows her assessment period dates, she should plot her paydays and see when it will happen. If she applied today her assessment period would be 15- 14 th of each month and always stays the same dates.
