Dog sitter

Mum2two2022 · 12/09/2023 21:20

We are going away for 2 weeks in October and have asked a friend if she can stay at mine and look after my low maintenance dog.
Would £200 plus shopping be a good price? Wouldn't want her doing it for free. She currently lives with her parents so be a bit of freedom for her?

Thanks

I think that's a bit low

VeryStylishShoes · 12/09/2023 21:24

But I'm basing that on what a friend just paid her catsitter for 2 weeks (it was a good bit more than £200)

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 12/09/2023 21:25

We pay our dogsitter £35 per night, no food included, if that helps.

@VeryStylishShoes what would you recommend?

I could get a professional dog sitter and she would charge me 390 for the 2 weeks at her home.

@ThroughThickAndThin01 I've got a quote for a local dog sitter boarding at hers for £24 a day.

With my friend not being professional do you think what I am offering is reasonable??

I think it’s reasonable if she’s happy with it.

I'm not really an expert but a quick Google says £295/week is the going rate for housesitting and another quick Google says pay friends around 60%-70% of the going rate. So £354-£413?

Mum2two2022 · 12/09/2023 21:31

@ThroughThickAndThin01 I've asked hopefully she agrees! Tough one isn't it!

That’s about right then OP. 60% of £390 is £234.

@VeryStylishShoes & @ThroughThickAndThin01 amazing thank you ladies! £200 plus shopping is perfect then!
