2nd hand car nightmare, advice needed.

Hoping for a little advice. Purchase a second hand car from a trade seller. They delivered from their garage (outskirts of London) to us in the SW. DH paid via bank transfer and all was fine. Car was sold to us with a 90 day warranty.

On driving the car, it occasionally cut out/lost power whilst in slow traffic, but would start again quickly. A relative recommend turning off the eco mode and it stopped cutting out, problem solved .... for a day. On day 6 of owning the car, it cut out multiple times on one journey and engine light then came on. Contacted the garage we purchased it from, who told us to take it to a garage and let them know what the fault is. Turned out to the water jet at a cost of £330 for parts and labour. The selling garage agreed to transfer us the cost of this, which they have since done. Car then drove fine for a few more days.

Car then started doing the same thing, this time, no engine light! Happened 6 times over a 1 mile journey. The following day drove fine!

Then on Sunday, cut out again and this time the engine wouldn't start again. Called AA who said there are 2 new faults!! Car is now parked on our driveway whilst we wait to here back from selling garage, they have not been answering DHs phone calls. Tried calling from withheld number, they picked up immediately, explained what had gone on and that we really aren't happy with the car and all its faults after only 14 days of purchasing it. Garage said the owner would ring back, they haven't.

Does anyone know legally where we stand with getting our money back? Car was purchased with a credit card.

There likely aren’t two new faults - it’s probably the repairing garage not diagnosing the issue properly.
I’d take it back to them in the first instance.
