I am so stressed about trying to get this right.

Have new role so I know I need to pay a tax charge. But worry about getting this wrong.

I have 3 children and worked out I need to pay a tax charge of £1766

Is anyone able to help and check I have worked this out right ?

You don’t need to work it out yourself, when you do your tax return you just tell HMRC how much your taxable pay was and how much CB you received and they work out how much needs to be paid back.

What Chessie said. And HMRC already knows both of those things, so when you click through your self assessment they'll already have the figures for you, you only need to double check and confirm and then they'll tell you what to pay.

Sorry I should of been clearer. Yes I know I use the HMRC website.

But what's the taxable income figure I need to use ? That's the bit I get confused on as that obviously affects the calculation

£56.762.62

It's "Taxable pay" in the right image; so £56762.62.
