Carers allowance question.

Hello.

So I called the DWP today regarding carers allowance, to which I've been granted with backpay. The man I spoke to explained the payment was processed yesterday (odd as it was a bank holiday yesterday), and went on to say that, and my first payment would arrive Monday.

However this has left me confused. Surely if the payment was processed yesterday it would be sent by BACs today, and thus arrive on Thursday?

So my question is regarding this. Has everyone else got their carers allowance back payment a different day than their usual day, and if not how quickly after you received confirmation was it in your account? As I'm really confused.

No direct experience with CA but arrears of PIP often come separately from, and on a different day to, the first regular payment.

IIRC some legacy benefits, calculated weekly, have a payment day that's common across the piece.

It's actually my own PIP experience that confused me, as this was certainly the case when my partner received PIP.

I guess I will just have to wait and see what occurs, though it does seem extremely weird that a payment processed as BACs would take a whole week to hit an account.
