Hi can anyone help a friend of mine. He became a second home owner through buying a cheap second property for his child at uni as they couldn’t find a rental. He paid second property tax on it. He is now downsizing and selling his main residence but isn’t sure if he will have to pay second home tax on his new home? If so, he can’t afford to move? Can anyone help? He lives in Scotland.
