What basic thing do you wish you could afford?

I'm in my 30s with a family. I still feel like I can't really afford to heat my house in the winter. We have it on at very specific times of day and outside of that we just layer up. Probably good for the planet etc, but with small kiddos I wish I could afford heating without having to worry about it and go without it when I need it. I can't ever see it not being a concern.

Agree with you. Also wish I could just fill up the car from empty without worrying, but at £130 a tank I end up putting in the odd £40 or £50 instead. I'm dreading this winter

Let's hope we have a mild winter!

Agree with heating. Couldn't run it last year and certainly won't be be able to this year either. Lots of layers on and heat the lounge with the wood burner.
