My daughter was finally awarded in June after a long wait from Sept last year .I them did a redetermination and her award was upped. This is were I am confused the back pay and monthly amount don't match the award on the letter I have spoken to 3 different people and just keep being told they don't have access to that information and that they will get someone to call me back but that dosnt happen. Does anyone have any idea what could of happened or what I can do next ?

Is this DLA?

Have you accounted for the back pay including part of the award at 22/23 rates and part at 23/24 rates?

What rate does the award letter state? And how much are you receiving every 4 weeks?

@Bromptotoo no child disability payment

Scots DLA then ;-)

What does the award letter say is the start date for the award, how much did you get paid for arrears and when?

I recieved 3091 this week the award was from the 17th of Sept 2022. However I did recieve a small backpayment of 800 pound in July when she was awarded low rate care before the determination .
The letter states that she is getting high rate care and low rate mobility and she is now getting £407 every 4 weeks.

How old is DD? £407 every 4 weeks is HRC only. If DD turns 5 soon I am wondering whether they have made a decision to award LRM from 5, but you obviously won’t get it until then. That could explain the backpay too.

To save me trying to work it out, what do you think it should be?

I have a sheet at home but I'm out just now!

coreas · 12/08/2023 15:48

Also juts a quick note when you worked out what you think it should be did you take into consideration the rise in April?

Mo819 · 12/08/2023 17:19

Dd is only 3.8 yrs but the letter says lrm with a justification for it I think the back pay and monthly award is for hrc only .I just can't understand why the letter states differently she does have breathing problems that mean she can't walk very far however I wouldn't of expected her to have been awarded mobility at age 3.

That explains it. HRM can be awarded from 3, but you can’t receive LRM before 5.
