Travel insurance - can I claim when policy has lapsed (if claim event was when policy was live)?

My annual travel insurance policy ends tomorrow. I need to put in a claim for a holiday that was around a week ago (so it happened while the policy was live).

Do I need to claim today before my policy lapses, or can I claim after the policy has finished?

If the policy was in force at the time, you can claim against it.
