That festival; I wonder if the bots have been given guidance on what photos they can post, even dressed up as “privacy” for the general public? All I can see is general festival shots borrowing other exhibitors’ crowds, group photos of the cult members in their yellow uniforms or close ups of alleged interactions with the public. No one has stood back and taken a picture of all the people on the FL stand have they?

Looking at the map they were definitely on the edge of things and not on a footfall heavy pitch. Sure, if you’re handing out free mini cups of your gloop people are going to take them but that’s just politeness, vague curiosity or to get the bots off their back, no way does it go further. If it does go further it only gets as far as someone asking the price of the gloop. No one is going to want to buy it and I doubt it was the sort of crowd that will be interested in signing up.

I think the country manager has yet to understand that middle class Cotswold festival goers are not going to be attracted by the whole uniformed rep vibe and they certainly aren’t going to take the flashy, pushy, overly made up Yawn and her weight loss story very seriously. That whole exercise will have been a costly mistake for FL even though they don’t pay bots to be there. I wonder how much their stand was?

I do wonder what the bot’s DC make of their parents lives? They may see their parents nice houses, foreign holidays, etc. but I suspect they’ve also seen the constant pressure to recruit and sell. The worry over directors loans and the constant gurning on SM. It’s telling that Wierd willys son has done a proper degree and is going to get a proper J.O.B. I wonder have many of the other children will follow in their parents foot steps. Not many, I suspect.

@50fedup Yawn’s children are examples of young people who have put clear distance between themselves and the botting activity of their parents. In the case of Yawn’s DD there is absolutely no hint of her in the Thatch and I wonder if she has received negative pushback in the past, for example friends’ parents losing money after getting roped into FLP or something like that. It’s like she doesn’t exist at all, she must have put her foot down.

I suspect as those children of bots grow up they realise that the nice cars, houses and holidays are not all they seem. They must also get increasingly angry that their younger selves have been exploited and had their privacy repeatedly breached. Lots of them have had to live with the instability of being plonked in a private school only to be withdrawn on the quiet a couple of terms later or constantly down sizing or being whisked away from friendship groups on a parental whim (Castle), or a certain amount of exclusion because of a parent’s botting activity causing friction at the school gates etc. All manageable when they’re 8 but the backlash when they’re 16 is going to take a few of them by surprise. One child I feel particularly concerned for is Castle’s oldest.
