Debit card refund abroad. Can anyone help?

Not mum related, but was wondering if anyone could help. I am abroad and a restaurant over charged me. They refunded me 100 euros last night and I have the receipt to show money was put back on card but nothing is showing on my account. I spoke to bank and they can see a pending transaction for the money coming out of my account but not going back in? Can it take longer for the refund to show?

Yes, refunds can often take a few days to hit accounts frustratingly.

Refunds can take 3-5 days usually, it's always been that way athough recently they've been a bit quicker than that, it'll be 2 days at least.

Yes. And there will likely be an exchange rate difference and foreign currency fees which will mean you are out of pocket.

Great thank you. I was in a panic as I couldn't understand why the money was showing pending coming out of account but not going back in! Thank you

I travel a lot always use a credit card not a debit card. Much more protection if things go wrong.
