I am payed universal credit on the 28th and got a decision for LCWRA on the 14th of June but the LCWRA element hasn't been included and they already owe me money. So frustrating

UC is paid in arrears so you probably wont see it until your 28 July payment.

Lougle · 02/07/2023 21:00

When did you submit your claim that you had LCWRA? There is a waiting time of 3 months from that point. Has that point passed?

Chameleons39 · 02/07/2023 21:10

first fit note was submitted in january. They received the lcwra form in January and I finally had my assessment in june a few days before I got my result.

sorry I've muddled that up a bit. First fit note was in december. My work coach sent off for the form when I let her know my condition is permanent. But I'm not sure if that usually happens

Pop a note in your journal asking when your lcwra will be included. I expect it just hasn’t been picked up by case manager yet.

Most UC changes are effective for the whole of the AP in which they occur - for example rent if you move home.

If you were found to have LCfWRA in June then, unless DWP have frigged the rules to work differently if it's to their gain, then I'd expect it to have been added for the AP in which the change occurred.

As above it's probably a cock up over what's done when and by whom but the way to find out is a message in your Journal.

Gingerkittykat · 03/07/2023 02:48

A lot of the time advisors say that LCWRA is to be added on 3 ap after it is awarded and not 3 months from submitting your first sick note. You need to leave a note in your journal under payments to ask them what is happening and if they have calculated the dates incorrectly remind them that it 3 months from the first sick note you are paid from.

It’s not back dated either,

Danikm151 · 03/07/2023 19:42

When my family member had the LWCRA applied she got a backdated payment worth 6 months then the higher rate was put on the following month.

it all depends on when your assessment period is. It can be really frustrating but write a message in your journal and state it’s about a payment.

It’s usually the next AP after you were awarded. They backpay to the first full AP after the 3rd Fitnote (so it’s more like 4 months after really). You need to pop a note on asking when it’s going to be included and can it please be backdated. They then send that to a manager who authorises it. You do have to “prompt” them for backpay otherwise they take ages. Mine was in my bank the same day I wrote on my journal and I think I got like £3300 back… mine took a while to be assessed as they were dealing with a Covid backlog though. Hope this helps and it gets sorted for you.

Keep on at them, mine was delayed for 2 years. The CAB eventually sorted it for me.
