Purchasing on a 0% card

So I currently have a credit card that I am paying off, it was 0% on balance transfers when I got it and I haven't spent on it, so I'm paying no interest. However, I now want to make a large-ish purchase (£500), and there will be interest. Can anyone tell me will I be charged interest on the total amount on the credit card? Or just interest on the purchase amount?

I really hope this makes sense. It's a one off purchase and I plan to not use the credit card again after.

Ring the card issuer and ask, but I suspect that once the interest starts, it will be on the entire balance.

Balance transfer will remain at 0% until the end of the time period stated at the time you did the transfer. Normal interest (whatever that may be on your card) will be charged on the purchase.

Thanks both, I'm really hoping it's only on the purchase amount, but I will clarify before spending

Can you not just get another 0% card if you really need to make the purchase?

I wouldn't ever suggest a credit card as my husband is in a mess with them currently but if you need too definitely don't use anything with interest as it spirals quickly!

Yes I suppose I could but I'm hesitant to take out another credit card, I think possibly I could just balance transfer to another 0% one after I make the purchase

Just get a 0% on spending one. How long will it take you to pay off £500?
