CIFAS

Due to a data breach at work, I registered myself on the CIFAS protective register for £25 for 2 years. However, I'm now concerned because after looking online, it seems I may be turned down for mortgages etc. as it is now on my report.
Has anyone had experience with this and did you have any difficulty? My score has dropped from 997 to 860 which I know is still quite high, but will the fact the flag is now on my report prevent me from getting credit?
Due to a separation, I'm in the process of selling my home and will be planning to do a solo move, so obviously concerned!
Thanks in advance for any help someone may be able to provide!

A CIFAS marker on your file will impact your credit rating because it means that a CIFAS member organisation thinks your account is linked to fraud. The protective register is something different and it just means that there's a risk of identity fraud associated with your identity (because of a data leak for example). Banks may check it when opening accounts but only to make sure that they're sure it's you. It has no impact on your credit score.

@mynameiscalypso thanks so much for your reply.
That's a relief! As I've done it myself as a protective measure, it should be fine.

Thanks again!
