Driving lessons expired!

Can anyone give me some advice regarding where I stand with a driving school removing remaining balance?
back in November 2021 I booked 30hrs of driving lessons and an an extra hour for my driving test I paid just over £800 for the package.
I had almost weekly lessons as he was usually fully booked. My instructor went on two week paternity then when he came back i had one lesson before I found out I was pregnant. I had HG for 6 months and was in and out of hospital and spent the first 3 months in bed. I’ve went into my account to book lessons and the £300 that was in my account has gone. When I went to payments it said “lessons expired” and they removed the £300!
is there anything I can do to have this put back into my account as £300 is a lot to loose and I can’t afford to pay another £300 for lessons

Have you called or emailed them? Often this sort of thing happens automatically but when you speak to someone to explain they can sort it out for you without any hassle.

Sounds like it could be an automatic process. Get in touch with them and explain your circumstances - see what they say

I’ve sent them an email on Wednesday but still waiting for a response, it says in there t&c that they cannot refund you the money back to your bank if it has expired but doesn’t say anything about it being refunded back into the driving account.

Do you still have the emails or texts from when you informed them you had to take a break for long term illness?

What did they say back then about the remaining lessons and balance?

Give them a few days and then try calling, emails sometimes get overlooked. Don’t assume anything before you’ve actually had a response from them 😊

Sadly not however my instructor didn’t say anything about them expiring when I explained I was pregnant and had to take a break. I hope they can sort it so I can continue lessons

Was it a national driving school, or a local company?

Have you read their T&Cs?

Typically most things that offer “credits” do have an expiry date, usually 12 or 24 months, for accountancy reasons. Did they tell you that the credits would still be valid? Have toy contacted them since 2021?

Its all going to hinge on what their T&Cs say.

NerrSnerr · 25/06/2023 14:41

When was your last lesson with them? When did you last contact them?

Mamabird2022 · 25/06/2023 15:11

@YouveGotAFastCar it was red driving school. The credit expired after 6 months but I wasn’t told that when I booked and when I spoke to my instructor regarding my pregnancy he never said anything either just that he would see me when I was ready to return to driving
