Full time NHS + self employed Maternity Pay

Hi all,
I work full time for NHS. (Band 3)
I also do odd bits and bobs teaching fitness classes.
My question is while I am on maternity leave from NHS am I able to pick up some extra fitness classes?
I am registered as self employed and do a tax return every year.
But just thinking when income drops if I could pick up a class or two a week it would help.
Any advice? Thanks.
