Hi
I worked for the nhs for 5 years i had to leave recently due to family issues , my friend just informed me , i lost my pension .
is this the case i was paying 120 a month into it ,
when i mentioned it to an old collegue she told me she thinks that's rubbish , but she did say she thought i could apply for it to be added somewhere else , cash it in or leave it where it is !
does anyone know how I find this out pls

It won’t be lost - you can contact NHS Pensions and give your employee number. It can be left to claim later or transferred.

Transfer it into a private one.

No, you only lose your accrued pension (you'd be refunded your contributions) if you leave after less than 2 years. If you were there for 5 years then any pension you accrued is kept, and will be revalued by CPI annually until you take it.
