I read this stat recently that only 1 in 10 women feel they fully understand investing and that only 28% of women feel confident about investing. I'm a bit apprehensive myself but I can't put my finger on why. What do you ladies think about this? What holds you back?

I think giving a statistic for women is meaningless unless you have a comparison statistic for men too. I'd be surprised if the majority of men feel very knowledgeable. I understand far more about investing than my husband does.

i took over my investment portfolio from the bank division that was dealing with it.
it's a tax sheltered plan, do i know much?? i think i know enough i can't do any worse than the bank fellows without having to pay them their monthly fees.
when i took it over (now in a self managed plan) i had 64 holdings. i sold stocks off, and am now sitting on about 30 holdings and what i sold i placed into GIC's at a set interest rate.
