Getting tax back as I'm under the threshold

I work part time and am under the threshold for paying tax. I just got paid a lump sum of £500 which I've been taxed on but even with this payment I'll still be under the tax threshold. How do I get this money back? Will it correct itself the following pay?

What is your tax code? You need to call HMRC to check that they don't think you have a second job which your personal allowance is applied against.

If your tax code hasn't changed, you will most likely get it refunded in your next pay when you go back under threshold. Or it may come back over a few pay packets depending how close to the threshold you are

If it's under PAYE from the same employer then yes it will correct itself . It may take more than one month depending on the exact figures. If extra NI has been deducted you wont get that back though.
