PIP review - please help

Hi all, I’ve just had a text message for a telephone appointment for a PIP review. This was meant to happen last year but has been postponed until now.

I am really worried about it. I have severe anxiety and mental illness and can’t find the photocopy of the form where I filled in the paperwork for the review . Do I need this? My mental health has worsened. My physical health has worsened and I don’t really know what to expect from this appointment- even though I have already been through the process once before.

Please can anyone advise. I am so worried they’ll stop my PIP and then I won’t know what to do as I am unable to work as it is due to this debilitating condition.

Please help.

Try not to worrry. can you have someone there to support you ? They will ask you questions based on what you wrote on the form but if things have changed then just tell them how bad things are now. Did you send any medical evidence in with the form? They are unlikely to stop your PIP unless things have got significantly better which they haven't. They may ask you questions about whether you are having any current treatments, seeing any mental health professionals, what support you need on a daily basis etc.

Just to add, I have supported a few people recently with these assessments for mental health and the assessors have all been very understanding on the phone call and given the client time to explain things etc.

Thank you - I really appreciate your advice. I did send medial evidence, yes, and was seeing a psychologist at the time, but that became too much and I could not cope with it and now my GP supports me. I have had a chat with a different therapist and am due to start therapy with her but I have found that all therapy offered so far that I have tried , such as CBT , has not worked .

I feel really unwell and it just isn’t getting any better.
Thank you again for your support

update:
I am currently now on the two week pathway for suspected cancer. My assessment is on Monday but the physical difficulties I have been having are the reason why I am being assessed . I’ve had scan results and tumour markers .

My PiP review is by phone this Monday. Do I tell them all this? Stupid question I know but my head is absolutely all over the place right now.

please can someone help.

I'm sorry to hear that. Yes you should tell them that information.
