Paypal pay in 3

Last month I did a paypal pay in 3 payment for just over £60. The first two payments have been taken with no issues. Today I applied for 0% finance on an iphone instore and for the first time ever was rejected for credit. Paypal says pay in 3 cannot affect your credit score. Is there a way that it could still lead to credit rejection? Thank you

No I don't think so, check you credit report incase you forgot something

It says my credit score is 999 so probably not that. I suppose it's also possible I entered a detail wrong on application.

Was it at Carphone warehouse? Both my husband and I failed the credit check there. Neither of us have ever had an issue with credit in the last 30 years.
Checked both our credit reports, all good.
Went direct to O2 instead with no issues.

It was at the apple store. I've never tried to get credit there before and I had a phone to trade in as deposit. Felt like such an idiot!
