Just a quick question. I have applied for the marriage tax allowance and was wondering if the payment comes on one cheque or separate ones.

It's an alteration to your tax code. No cheques

The back dated ones as it says if you you apply before a certain date it will be back dated as far back as 2018. It was on the martin lewis show about the dates i think.

when I applied for it to be passed to DH, he was self employed so the £1,000 allowance just got added to his £12,500 earnings threshold. We got a cheque for the previous year. HMRC sent a letter first detailing everything, then said a cheque would follow.
