Rent arrears - MCOL charge

Hi, hoping I have posted in the correct section and somebody can help!

I fell into rent arrears about four/five years ago. Buried my head in the sand for a long time, but eventually was told the outstanding balance (around £3k) and set up a payment plan of let’s say £300 a month with the landlord (not an individual, an established company).

This was all well into the past and dealt with, and I haven’t thought about it in about three years. However, the whole scenario sprang to mind the other day and as I get anxious sometimes I decided to log into my online portal to “double check” it had been dealt with. I knew it had been but it’s just an anxiety thing.

I logged on and everything has been paid as I already knew, however part of the amount I paid was a charge on the account titled “MCOL CCJ online charge” for £185. There was never a CCJ as I set up a payment plan with them internally and it never went to court as far as I’m aware.

If there was a CCJ then I’ve never been made aware of it and it doesn’t show on my credit file, I have since had a mortgage approved so if there is a CCJ somewhere out there against me then I have committed fraud by declaring I don’t have one on my mortgage application.

Does anybody please have any idea what this charge is exactly, and whether it should have been paid? I have emailed and am waiting for a response, hoping it’s a mistake and this charge was added in error.
