Hi. Anyone know how to do it ? I have the App it says we should be paying £184 pm we’re paying £11O at the moment. But I can’t see how to increase it, I’d like to pay £150 not their recommendation.

is there a link in the email where you agree or disagree to their suggestion and then select what you want to pay? I’m sure that’s how I did mine as like you I wasn’t paying what they said as I had some credit on the account.

I hate Octopus! I really liked Bulb, the app was simple and easy and they acknowledged every meter reading I took and changed the dd accordingly. Shame they ran out of money!

I also hate that spin the wheel to win free energy feature. Fuck off - struggling with energy bills is not a bloody game!

Thanks @Limetreee you just reminded me I have as yet to go on to octopus. Yes I just clicked on the email and amidst all the blurb there is a 'change payment' section. V quick and easy to do. Missing the Bulb app (even though Bulb annoyed me) but I'm sure I'll get over it!

I really like Octopus, i find the app really easy to use. You can update your DD payment through the app whenever you want, as often as you want. And if you have a balance over their recommended balance, it's really easy to withdraw it back to your bank account.

I think the spin the wheel thing is to incentivise people to make monthly meter readings, which - looking at some of the other energy threads on MN, where numerous people are bitching/confused about their bills which are based on estimated usage because they haven't sent in meter readings for months - is obviously needed!

I've been happy with Octopus. You get an up to date balance as soon as you submit readings and are reminded to do them monthly. You can adjust your payment up and down on the app too.
