Life / critical illness insurance - where to start? Can you recommend anywhere?

It's just so overwhelming knowing which one to get and which company are least likely to wriggle out of any claims.

It is at the back of my mind that I am the main earner and DH will lose the house if I die or am not able to work, so I need to get this sorted.

I have:

• Asthma - well controlled
• Endometriosis - but awaiting removal surgery
• Goitre - but no official diagnosis of anything thyroid related.
• Infertility thanks to the endo but I don't really count this as a 'diagnosis'

Will it be easy to find insurance with these issues? Can you recommend any companies please?

Finally - I am 40 - would appreciate any heads up on what a fair monthly payment would be. Thank you!

Hi, I am a similar age to you and would recommend speaking with a broker, they will talk through your situation and what your needs are and advise the best route for you.
I work for one (although only an admin, not adviser) and none of your health conditions are especially rare or in my opinion would proclude you from getting insurance. Well done you for tackling what can be an overwhelming thing but is so important (not meant to sound as patronising as it does, can't word it any other way its been a long week!)

I took out life insurance last year and I've got diabetes so it was a pain... we got some ridiculous quotes so ended up looking for a specialist.

Ended up with these iaminsured because they were highly rated and they managed to get us sorted. Worth a look for you maybe
