UC and changes to job

Hello wise MNers, some advice please. Due to a change in my flexible working I've been forced to hand my notice in at my current full time role, and find another job that gives me school hours. This has obviously led to a huge drop in my income. I'm worried UC will end up sanctioning me as a result.

I've requested an appointment via the journal, but has anyone else had to do this? What was the outcome? Be grateful for any advice.

They are unlikely to sanction you if it is for childcare reasons and you have done everything you can to look for childcare. How old your children are will determine how many hours you are expected to work although it's more about earnings really and as long as you don't earn over the earnings threshold they are unlikely to do much.

Thanks for the reassurance @Babyroobs. I think it was seeing the contract for the new role last night, the difference was so stark - down to 22 hours from 37! Single parent so drop offs and pick ups all down to me, and any hope of career progression down the toilet. Hey ho!
