Going from a 2 bed to 3/4

Hi,

I am looking to see how much bills may increase by going from a 2 bed terrace house to a 3 potentially 4 (if we can afford that) house. So far I have factored in additional council tax, gas and electricity, does water go up? What else might I have missed

If you have done this move please can you share some numbers. I want to make sure that after mortgage and childcare we have enough money for bills etc

thank you in advance

There is more general maintance - window cleaner costs more. Painting the house requires more time and tins of paint etc etc.

For me, our 4 bed, newish build, had similar gas and electricity to out edwardian 2 bed.

Water will be more if not on a meter. Should be similar is metered.

Water didn't go up for us oddly it actually went down. Having to clean a bigger area was more annoying than expensive.

Aside from the bills you have identified we mostly found we didn't have enough furniture or decorative stuff to fill a bigger area.

Water depends if metered or rated on value.

I moved to a newer bigger house & as it’s far better insulated and on a meter the bills are the same
