im due to move into a house soon which is key gas and electric. Anyone else have these and can give pro's and cons? Also, does it work out more expensive?

Easy peasy.
Is it old or smart meter? Old ones you will have to go to the shops.

Price. It's same price now from the fixed tarrifs I've seen.

You can ask landlord to change it or at least change it to smart ones, but old ones had 1 big benefit. If you top up before price increase it kept the price. I was running on march 22 prices until October iirc.
