UC + partner moving in

My partner is going to be moving into my house in the next few days. I'm on UC and work part time, he recieves no benefits and works full time, but still has a UC account from when he was claiming as his income was low.

I know I need to add him onto my claim and we are certain we won't need the help from UC/qualify for any, but we are curious as to what the process is?

I know there's an option to add him on, by change of circumstances and I've read online that we can connect accounts, but how does this work? Will we still need to attend the job centre for an appointment to connect accounts? Or will they see that he and I earn enough to not need UC support and close out accounts automatically?

Just report the change that he has moved in. If he has an active account I can't see why he would need to attend the job centre. It will join the accounts together and then if both your earnings mean you no longer qualify for any UC it will just give you a zero award but the account will possibly stay open until you have had 6 zero awards in a row.
