Uc help?

Currently on uc and I've just had my baby. I was getting money for myself and had to bring proof of having a baby in to the job center. Does uc give you extra money automatically or do you have to apply?
First child so I don't really understand what happens

I just had to put on journal the date baby was born and then they contacted me, this was during one of the lockdowns though so it could of changed now.

You need to add your child's details on your account and then verify them. It sounds like you have already added them if you have an appointment to verify them so once that is done you should get a payment for your baby.
